The Week in Digital Media & Learning
As we report in this week’s Playback, since the launch of the 2012 Digital Media and Learning Competition: Badges for Lifelong Learning there’s been a robust conversation going on in the blogosphere about digital badges. HASTAC and the Mozilla Foundation will be hosting a series of webinars on the subject beginning Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. (EST). The first one, Badges 101, will address the basics: “What are badges? What are open badges? How can badges work for learners?” You can register for the event or submit questions in advance here.
Additionally, for those of you in the Chicago area, Cathy Davidson, one of the hosts of the webinar, professor of English and Interdisciplinary Studies at Duke University, and HASTAC co-founder will be reading from her new book “Now You See It: How the Brain Science of Attention Will Transform the Way We Live, Work, and Learn” on Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Harold Washington Library. |
